Pastor Mike’s Installation Service

October 15, 2017

Even though Pastor Mike and his family have been here since August  20th, his “official” Installation Service was October 15th. Present at the service was our District Superintendent and several pastors from nearby (and not so nearby) Churches of the Nazarene. The service was a time of covenant and commitment between the congregation and our new pastor. We are looking forward to the coming days and years together!

Following the service, there were refreshments and a time of fellowship to visit with old friends and new…

Rodney & Susie’s Last Sunday and Moving Day

September 17 & 18, 2017

We bid a sad goodbye to Rodney & Susie Tucker on Sunday with a farewell dinner after the worship service. The Tuckers have been with us for several years and have been a vital part of the family and ministry of our church family. They will be greatly missed, but we wish them the best of God’s blessings as they follow God’s call to pastor a Church of the Nazarene in Magnolia, Mississippi! Here are a few pictures from their farewell dinner (just a few because the photographer was too busy eating to get many, sorry!):

A great group turned out on Monday to help Rodney and Susie load the moving truck. Here are a few pictures of the hard workers (thanks to Erica for the pics!):

And finally, how do you respond to a hard day of loading a moving truck and bidding farewell to friends? You sing a song!

Our New Pastor’s First Sunday

August 20, 2017

After being unanimously recommended by the Church Board then voted on by the membership of the Church, we called Rev. Mike Jones to be our new Pastor! His first Sunday with us was August 20, 2017. We heard his wife sing then Pastor Mike shared a message from God’s Word titled, “What Now?” urging us to be what God wants us to be in our world. We welcome our new pastor, wife Erica and son Phillip, and look forward to what God has in store for us in the years ahead.

Pastor White’s Last Sunday

August 6, 2017

On August 6th, Marlene, our Church Board secretary, announced the results of the church vote to call Rev. Mike Jones as our new pastor, with a start date of August 20th. Four the last four months, our church has been blessed to have Pastor Larry White and Linda with us as our Interim Pastor. August 6th was their last Sunday so we thanked them for their ministry to and among us (to include a generous love offering). On this Sunday, they also brought friends from Springfield who ministered to us in song.

Rev. Mike Jones, Pastoral Candidate Visit

July 16, 2017

We had a great day this past Sunday, meeting, hearing and getting to know our pastoral candidate, Mike Jones, and his family. It was also a pleasure to have our Assistant District Superintendent, Chris Carver, and his wife with us. The potluck dinner after the service was a wonderful time of fellowship with more delicious food and deserts than we could eat!

Big Sunday!

May 28, 2017

This Sunday was a big one with honoring our High School graduates, the Caravan Awards & Promotion Ceremony (which you can see pictures of here at the Caravan gallery page) and the church picnic where we also dedicated our new picnic pavilion!

First, here are a few pictures of Pastor White recognizing our High School Graduates, Abby, Julia and Ranae. Each graduate was given a Bible with their name embossed on it and had the opportunity to say what their plans for the future are. Congratulations to all of our graduates!

Following the service, we had a brief Dedication Ceremony for our new picnic pavilion with thanks to Wade, Mike, Rodney & Dean C. for all of their help in seeing the pavilion come to fruition! We enjoyed breaking it in with our first church picnic where there was a lot of great food and deserts to enjoy along with a great time of fellowship!
